Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child, was born to a family in South London. Both her parents are both English. Her family was raised in the south London council estate, and at the age of 14, attended The Brit School. She was a student at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained a BA in acting. While at school she appeared in several stage productions, such as the King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career through the film Storm Damage. Over the past few years, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Her success has led her to be cast in Elisha in a single-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in six episodes Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, she was cast as Bambi, the lead role in the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was also a part of 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her credits in theatre include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe was a part of Ashley Davenport in the ABC show The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just two weeks on The CW and then it was cancelled. In February, she was cast 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe had appeared in all episodes in the series' first two seasons as an regular. However, in May of 2013, word broke that the actress would quit the show due to her appearance as a guest on the first episode of the series' third season. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred as Tituba in the TV series Salem. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. Together, they worked on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared alongside Madekwe on Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. Her four older brothers were present as well and included twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball fields because the four brothers who were athletic were hockey players, baseball players, and both in the spring and summer. Ashley couldn't walk, however she could dance. This led to the fact that as she grew older when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. Ashley was addicted to dance immediately. Ashley was a professional dancer across all major divisions up until her graduation from high school. The competitions she participated in included jazz, tap, ballet and pointe, as well as the acrobatics. Ashley was awarded the top soloist award at every major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention a few.
