Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from the mixed race family of South London in England. Both her parents are both English. She was born in the south London council estate, as a teenager, she 14, attended The Brit School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She was on stage in several productions as a student including the King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her career as an actor with the film Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film appearance was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Then, she played Elisha on the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In addition, she appeared as Ollie in the six episodes from Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was a part of the 2008 Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. She was also in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, directed by David Watson.
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode show aired only for 2 weeks at The CW and then it ended. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge in February of 2011. Madekwe was a regular on the drama series of Revenge on ABC during two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she would quit the show after completing a guest episode in the first episode of season three. Between 2014 and the year 2016, she appeared on Salem on the CW as Tituba. Then, in June of 2012 she married her long-time boyfriend actor Iddo Goldberg. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also had a role alongside her on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. Her parents were Roy and Patty and four older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. The brothers of Ashley were extremely athletic and played baseball and hockey in the winter as well as in the summer. Her childhood was spent in stadiums and played baseball. Ashley could not walk but danced. As a result, when she turned 2, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer immediately after that. Ashley was a professional dancer in all the major divisions until she finished high school. The competitions she participated in included jazz, tap, ballet as well as pointe and acrobatics. Additionally, she was awarded the top awards for soloists in every important dance competitions including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
