Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is from a multi-cultural family. Her birthplace was within South London. She is English as well as her father is Nigerian. Her family was raised in a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age 14. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained an acting BA. She appeared in many performances on stage during her time at school, including King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. In the years since, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe's debut film role was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. Following that she portrayed Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she was a part of Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was also a part of the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Performance credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her US debut in the 2009 Drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes in the US on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. After appearing on the show for the initial two seasons it was announced in May 2013 that Madekwe would leave the show after a guest appearance in the pilot episode from the 3rd season. From 2014 until 2016she appeared in Salem on the CW as Tituba. Madekwe, along with her boyfriend of many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. Together, they worked in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared alongside Madekwe on Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. Ashley Leggat was a part of Roy and Patty and her other siblings, Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. Ashley's athletic brothers played baseball in summer and hockey in the winter. Ashley did not have the ability to actually walk. She was a dancer. At 2 and a 1/2 when she was a little older, she began to take part in Baby Ballet. It was then that she discovered Ashley's love for dancing. When she was in high school, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical and hip-hop. She won the top individualist in all the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
