Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a mixed family. Her mother is English and her father Nigerian. She was a student at The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She earned her BA in acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She appeared in many stage productions during her school days, including King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career in the movie Storm Damage. She has since made appearances on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), with Colin Farrell. She then was the lead in Elisha on the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In the same time, she starred as Ollie in six episodes each from Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi as the main character in the ITV2 comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also played the main character on How to lose friends & betray people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment back in the year 2008. Her credits in the theatre are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport on the ABC Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just 2 weeks at The CW and then it was cancelled. In February of 2011 she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. After being a regular for the initial two seasons it was announced in May 2013 that Madekwe would quit the show following an appearance as a guest in the first episode of the third season. On the show Salem, she played Tituba between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe married her actor partner Iddo goldberg in June of 2012. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he was a character on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. Her parents, Roy and Patty and her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's brothers, who were each of them extremely active, took part in hockey in the winters and baseball in the summers, meaning that she grew up playing in parks and arenas. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She was a dancer. At just 2 1/2 years old and a half, she began to take part in Baby Ballet. That was the start of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley competed in top-level divisions in jazz, tap hip-hop, ballet Acrobatics, Lyrical Musical Theatre and pointe until she graduated in high school. Ashley was awarded the top soloist honor at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention a few.
